Welcome to the intricate and turbulent world of mutants. Immerse yourself within a strange and enamoring place full of violent, super powered villains; bold, exceptional superheroes; and the reluctantly gifted few who are chosen by fate to be caught up between them. This is the world of the X-Men.
Uncanny X-Men RPG: The Universe in Which We Play Our Roles.
Our board strives to create a fluid and active community for those who can appreciate not only the brilliantly designed characters, unique superpowers and dynamic relationships they share, but also those who can appreciate the rich history and storytelling that are the hallmark of the X-Men comic books. Uncanny X-Men RPG brings with it a higher expectation of our players, several of them being hand picked for their roles ensuring that we get only the most qualified and skillful of writers to join us.
Whether you have only recently begun to appreciate the world of the Uncanny X-Men or whether you’ve been a fan since its earliest of incarnations you will enjoy the quality and consideration of the world created for this particular RPG. We have chosen a more pure and less complicated era for our mutants to interact in. Set at the height of the action and drama, our history starts where one of the most critical moments in mutant history ends, and a new chapter begins.
As the last few sharp and stinging notes of the X-Cutioner’s Song fade ominously into the emptiness of the atmosphere of the moon, those caught up within the bitter conflict and violent resolution still hear the haunting tune lingering in their aching ears despite the stillness of the air. The mutant terrorist and enigmatic madman known as Stryfe has played his last refrain, his well orchestrated plots and schemes seemingly ended on the lunar battlefield thanks to the combined efforts of X-Factor, X-Force and of course, Charles Xavier’s X-Men. Their success was not without its loss, however, as the time shifting soldier, Cable had sacrificed himself to bring them that victory. He leaves them to mourn him with addendums of questions and confusion in the wake of his jaunt into oblivion.
As a group fraught with turmoil and chaos the Children of the Atom find themselves uncommonly devoid of pressing engagements or looming destruction demanding their action and attention. Magneto, perhaps the greatest of their enemies, has long been declared dead after the destruction of his asteroid base. Apocalypse, their ancient enemy bent on creating a world of hardship and struggle in order that the strong rule viciously over the weak has also been removed from the playing field, falling victim to his own axiom of survival of the fittest. No major threat befalls the X-Men and so it is with great consideration and a modecum of pleasure that Charles Francis Xavier allows his faithful X-Men to leave the Institute headquarters for a period of respite. To collect their thoughts, tie up their personal loose ends and return to him when and if they so wish with a clear mind and a much better focus on what it is they all fight for.
Time passes, as all indomitable forces are inclined to do and with it we find a handful of X-Men already returning to service, knowing that at any moment a new threat eagerly waits to replace any threats they have removed. Much truth rings through these songs as even the silence of the song soon stirs again, its tune building into an unnatural crescendo heralding a threat that cannot be drowned out no matter how loud the screams and lamentations become. But that, dear friends is a tale for another time…
Will you simply hear the tale from those who lived to tell it…. or would you instead wish to be very much a large part of it? Join the X-Men or their enemies and see where our world takes you.
* Many popular canons still available
*Thorough application securitization ensuring that the right person plays the right role
*Friendly staff that is more about working with you than making you do what we want
*World set in a more pure and easy to follow world of the X-Men, taking place in the early 90s comic book era set after a major crossover event (X-Cutioner’s Song)
*Not a drastic reexamination of your favorite characters, nor is it entirely typing out the comics storyline by storyline. We have chosen a period in the history and move on taking influence but not doctrine. The characters will stay true to themselves but we are free to adopt new story arcs.
*Several teams available to join including X-Men and X-Factor as well as the Hellfire Club or the Brotherhood.
*Plenty of chances for the solo and loner paths to cross with others allowing for some very creative opportunities for good story writing.
You know full well you are capable, you know that you can rise to the occasion and thrive in an environment rich with expectation and challenging story writing. What are you waiting for?
