It has been a year since the "death" of Professor Xavier, Scott, and Jean, which everyone took hard for obvious reasons, but the school has continued as have the X-Men. After all, not all the Mutants took the cure, which it has also been a year since it was introduced into the mutant population. After about six months the cure began to wear off making some mutants sick and making others powers grow beyond what they previously had, and a few mutants even gained new abilities that they did not have before.

So after mutants around the globe started getting their powers back there was great worry that there would be a mutant uprising to get payback for the Cure. But thankfully the X-Men were always there to help stifle the arguments that would pop up, though humans thought they to were the enemy, so it has not been easy to keep the peace.

More so with a rumor that Magneto has been rebuilding his organization since he and Mystique got their powers back.
